Tried to get the rpm's from sourceforge working but them being Mandrake rpm's I had some troubles with the instalation and I could still not get it working. Did you realy use the mandrake rpm front and backend and did it finaly work? (That was what I did with 8.1 which worked but which failed me up to now with 8.2) It gives me new hope to have the scanner working again. -- NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.

Dear Marcia,
Glad to hear that you got your scanner working. Tried to get the rpm's from sourceforge working but them being Mandrake rpm's I had some troubles with the instalation and I could still not get it working. Did you realy use the mandrake rpm front and backend and did it finaly work? (That was what I did with 8.1 which worked but which failed me up to now with 8.2)
It gives me new hope to have the scanner working again.

Yes, I did get my scanner to work with those rpm's in 8.2. Besides that I had to edit some files though and at this moment I do not remember which ones they were, but there is an email about what files they are somewhere on that sourceforge site. When I had Suse 8 the rpms worked well straight away, but this time once I upgraded to 8.2 then none of my usb worked at all. My system is an athlon xp 1600+ and many of the athlons were not able to get usb to work with 8.2. I had to upgrade my kernel to the one suggested on that sourceforge mailing list and then the rpm's worked immediately. If you have an athlon , usb, and 8.2 it may be a usb problem more than scanner problem. I will help you if I can. My guess is that the source would work well, too, if I had gone that route after fixing the usb. My opinion is that there is a way to get your scanner working with 8.2 from the help on that page. I wish you well towards that anyway.:) Sincerely, Marcia
