Ctrl-Alt-Backspace Behavior
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace Behavior I am using SuSE 7.2 with a TNT2 nvidia card. It has crashed on me twice. In both cases it seemed like X crashed. Everything went away except the wallpaper of my KDE2 desktop. In both cases, I had a disturbing experience: all I wanted to do was restart X, so I pressed ctrl-alt-backspace. In both cases, instead of restarting X, it rebooted my system! I have never heard of Linux rebooting when ctrl-alt backspace is pressed, yet it has happened to me twice. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone have an idea of how to avoid it rebooting when all I want is to restart X? *************************************************** Powered by SuSE Linux 7.2 Professional KDE 2.1.2 KMail 1.2 Bryan S. Hi Bryan, you can set that option in yast in that way that this key combo is ignored, for reboot or for halt other than that, ps shows you what task to kill, then "startx" and you should be done. greetings! -- *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨¨*¤ =Oliver@home= *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨*¤ I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/Olli/olli.html I I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/friends.html I I http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VGAP-93 I I http://home.t-online.de/home/spacecraft.portal I
