Hi, I have just bought a copy of Suse 8.1 which I had hoped to put on my server (a Compaq Proliant, quad CPU P/Pro 200 with 512M memory). Under 8.0 it locked up shortly into the CD boot because it couldn't figure the memory I guess ... the solution was to modify the boot command line to "Linuz me=512M" and it was fine and the install was smart enough to continue that way through subsequent boots. Under 8.1 it locks up, no problem I thought ... ah! Unlike before there is no "Linux" already present on the C/L and typeing either "Linux mem=512M" or "mem=512M" has no effect, it still locks up! Any ideas? James C. Rocks Equant Archway House Canary Wharf London E14 9SZ
