[opensuse] IPTables/Firewall with failover/load balancing
Hi ! Anyone knows proven solution - IPTables/Firewall with automatic net link checking, failover and optionally load balancing, for 2 net connections with 2 ISPs? One of the issues we had with previous IP tables/shell script is to correctly switch default gateway when main link was down. Our server runs OpenSUSE with ISPConfig and IP telephony, so correct work of such solution is essential. Thanks in advance Andrei -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm guessing also with two different IP-ranges? Try googling Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control and multipath routing. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.7°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm not sure if multipathing TCP is usable in opensuse, but you may have a look at it. Explained here: http://multipath-tcp.org/data/MultipathTCP-netsys.pdf Config example here: http://multipath-tcp.org/pmwiki.php/Users/ConfigureRouting

Config example here:
SuSE uses the same kernel as everyone else so why wouldn't it be usable? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
SuSE uses the same kernel as everyone else so why wouldn't it be usable?
Unfortunately it seems not to be enabled. Kernel and tools needs to be patched: grep -i mptcp /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/* -> nothing! gunzip -c /proc/config.gz |grep -i mptcp -> nothing! But http://multipath-tcp.org/pmwiki.php/Users/Distributions points to a patched kernel repo - last updated 11/2013 :-(
