Hello SuSE people, Last night I had a nvidia upgrade in my 10.3 X86-64 Of course today when I booted up I was dumped to level 3 wiithout graphics. I made my way to the XF86Config and changed "nvidia" to "nv" which gave me my graphic screen again. Question is: Does the old nvidia driver reside on my machine someplace? or at least which one was replaced (number ID) because I would like the old one back. I know I can go to the SuSE repository or to the nvidia site but I don't know which one to pick or install. :^)

Why, "of course"? You expect this action, the action was predicted or just a *negative* outlook?
I made my way to the XF86Config and changed "nvidia" to "nv" which gave me my graphic screen again.

depends on the particular utility which provides the upgrade and/or your configuration of that utility.
or at least which one was replaced (number ID) because I would like the old one back.
You know the version of the "old" one and the version of the new one?
I know I can go to the SuSE repository or to the nvidia site but I don't know which one to pick or install.
Get the previous version to the one you have now. And, if that one does not work, the next previous. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Simply tell the driver to recompile itself, old style. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
