[opensuse] opensuse4.2 boxed edition for USA
Will we actually see one here soon, ever?? I look for retailers a and get a ''Watch this spot'' announcement. Asked Amazon ,about it as I bought earlier versions there the never heard of Suse Linux at all , except for an old book they'll happily sell me, and of course I can order from the British shop, tho the US shop doesn't know that I know they even exist.. Also, Checked in w/ Novell, nah.. they aren't talking either.. unless I want some real huge job done. were a small shop here.. and what w/ the current biz climate in the states, we aren't going to get a lot bigger real quick. So, suggestions? Get a European box? ( gotta be a box, the bosses like that. It's a security blanket, so let's keep them happy shall we?) hi, I did try there, I'm not too certain either. So I sent them an email. They don't seem to be actually open for business as there isn't any way to purchase the product even tho there is a "cart" which is usually indicative of a purchase motif ... weird . setting that sort of account up can be expensive too. .. We shall see I guess. Thank heavens for Amazon's semi global reach I guess, I may need it yet ;) AND thank you for your help , I do appreciate it. I'm headed for a long airplane ride today, and am not looking forward to the hassles or the trip, so forgive me if I have been less than polite. My manners tend to slip when confronted w/ TSA and icy cold and wet concrete w/ whatever the flooring is in my bare feet.. I already have a cold thank you. And they haven't even the decency to offer you a nice warm cup of anything. in many places not even a place to sit and try to get your shoes on over wet hose if you have them, wet bare feet, no towels of course.. nooo.. cost too much. I'd rather deal w/ the FBI strait up. At least then you know what you have, but that would be too expensive. They have actual degrees. oh well, snobby little me probably is getting what she deserves here. No doubt a karmic comupance for some other crime on the Great Wheel.. I'm afraid his Holiness will tsk tsk at me again today. I do so often disappoint him.. but I make him laugh a lot too. I've just decided that is what I am for.. everyone must have some reason for being, no? ;) j -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Exactly! I know it's dumb, but the guys in the suits somehow believe that something that comes out of a nicely printed box is vastly superior to something downloaded from the internet tubes. If the nicely printed box says "Novell" on it somewhere (they've heard of Novell), even better. Maybe it is respectable and not some DFH plot. This is a marketing opportunity not available to the likes of Cannonical and Mandriva going to waste. I bought several boxes with my little mad money account for years just to encourage this. One time my boss noticed that I hadn't opened the one I had prominently displayed in my office, even though SuSE 9.3 was installed all over the department. I learned: buy the box, tear open the flap. -- N. B.
