RE: [SLE] local maildelivery problem
Addendum: if you need any other information, some config fiiles or logfiles, i'll be glad to provide them. I'm quite an experienced linux-user, but mail is not my specialty :-) I forgot to mention also that i verified that the mails are now in the mailq. I saw fetchmail writing (with strace) into a unix socket. What i didn't found out yet is to whom this socket belongs. i don't think that in my previous setup i was using postfix at all, can that be the case? greetz, pieter
Hello list,
I had a working fetchmailconfiguration for my own user. Everything worked fine. Then i wanted to try to configure my mailsystem systemwide using yast.
The fetchmailconfiguration was ok and worked straight away (although i was surprised to see my impa folder emptied... suse included a -a option that is not mentioned in yast!)
so now fetchmail has fetched about 900 mails from my imap, but fails to deliver it to my local inbox. During the yast configuration i tried several things with postfix and procmail, but without luck. in the logs (mail.info e.g.) i see the messages passing like this:
Mar 5 13:26:24 nfspdt2 postfix/qmgr[9450]: 0E1AB138AB2: to=<pdt@localhost.mydomain>, orig_to=<pdt@localhost>, relay=none, delay=10247, status=deferred (connect to loopback.mydomain[127.0.0.1]: Connection refused)
i do not really know a lot about postfix, and i'm reading the docs right now, but any hints are welcome, as for the moment this keeps me from working efficiently (i'm relying on email quite heavily)
Thx in advance!
Pietr
