it is.. but it dosn't seem to make TKDESK happy On Sat, 20 Jun 1998, you wrote:

Or, if it's a directory that you execute from a lot, like /opt/kde/bin for kde users, then I would add /opt/kde/bin to your path in /etc/profile.

Chris
Using SuSE 5.2, whenever I try to start Netscape, either from the App Bar, or by clicking on an .html file displayed in TKDesk, I get an error window that says "Alert! Can't execute: netscape". This happens whether or not Netscape is already running.
I can start it from the fvwm2 menu and from the console without any problems.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get it to start from within TKDesk?

I don't use tkdesk, but I would wager that it uses an rc file somewhere where stuff like that is defined. Christopher L Miller wrote:

It uses several, in $HOME/.tkdesk. I found the one that defines netscape
command and changed it from "netscape" to "/opt/netscape/netscape" but
it didn't make any difference.
As mentioned in my other post though, symlinking netscape to /usr/bin
seems to have done the trick.

I've symlinked it to /usr/bin, and it's working fine now.
Thanks everyone for your help :)
