Actually, there's some preliminary data that shows a sort of 'MPG' Under Statistics we find - Statistics --------------------- [...] Average number of emails received per HOUR per WEEK = 3 o by extrapolation we can say that if the average rate of 3 posts per hour per week is maintained that 24 hrs x 365 days = 8760 hrs x 3 posts per = 26280 posts per year! And since we know that the average post = 4474 bytes then 26280 posts x 4474 bytes = 117576720 total bytes per year. (as an average) Actually I could have listed the posts per hour as 3.27 which my program generated, but since we never receive partial emails I rounded it to a whole number :> Otherwise using 3.27 we would get 8760 x 3.27 = 28704 posts per year which is proved by using the total number of weekly posts reported (552) x 52 weeks = 28704. And the new yearly total bytes = 128421696. Another interesting statistic is the ratio of posts from a 'suse.de' address (86) as a percentage of the total (552) = 15.57 % which is not to be confused with the percentage of times the word 'whining' was found = 0.1086 %, or even the number of times the phrase 'Can I buy a clue?' was found = 0.00181 % -- David Jeffers mailto: jeffers@redrose.net Slackware 2.3 1994 - SuSE 6.0 1999 -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
