[opensuse] Leap 42.2 Latest update kernel 4.4.79-18.26.2 - latptop runs warmer?
All, Has anyone else noticed laptop temps (or fans running remarkably more) after install of the latest kernel from the update repo? Kernel 4.4.79-18.26.2? I was browsing in FF after the update and the fans seem to run almost non-stop when scrolling pages and the temp recover (to fans quite) is taking longer than with the 4.4.79-18.23.1 kernel. It may be senility on my part, but logging nvtemp shows consistent temp excursions up to 54 degrees. I thought I would ask if anyone else has noticed something similar before I start down this rabbit-hole... -- David C. I guess this is a false alarm. Likely the laptop was hot already after reboot and rebuild of the virtualbox drivers. Launching FF (which is a memory and cpu hog in its own right) right away and browsing probably started from an elevated temp which lead to the running warmer indications. It seems to be back to normal now. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
