[opensuse] knemo alternative for KDE4 (oS 13.1)
Hello: I would like to have a network monitor applet in my openSUSE 13.1 KDE4 system tray. knemo is buggy in oS 13.1 and does not show the knemo icon (Thread: kd3-knemo in 13.1 with kde 4.11.3 https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/493289-kd3-knemo-in-13-1-with-kde...). Is there an alternative for it? I could not find one at software.opensuse.org. Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

There is network monitor capability in KSysguard and also a widgit you can add to the desktop. Not sure it provides all the functionality you were looking for, -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Hi Istvan, I noticed the bug as well. However, since I upgraded to oS 13.2, the KNemo applet is back without any further ado from my site. Greetings, Simon Am Donnerstag, 8. Januar 2015, 20:15:54 schrieb Istvan Gabor:

If you are running kde 4.11, why using knemo from kde 3? I would thing that really buggy. Or a typo ?? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, it's a typo. Should be simply knemo. Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Haven't you read the last post in this thread? ;) A fixed knemo is available in KDE:Extra. Btw, even the knemo included in 13.1 works fine. Yes, it doesn't show an icon when you first start it, but you can reach its settings via Systemsettings ("Configure Desktop")->Network Settings->Network Monitor. Add your network interface there, and it *will* show an icon in the system tray. But I wrote this in that thread as well... I've read it but I understood as KDE:Extra in openSUSE 12.2. Sorry. I will check KDE:Extra.

I will check this one too. Thanks for making it clear. Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
