[opensuse] Software Updater config question.
Hi Is there a way to tell it to check just on login? It only seems to have Daily, weekly or monthly. It does appear to have a time during the day it checks as when i use the login i'm using now, it never checks until later in the day. But with some of the other logins i use later in the day, the updater seems to check as soon as i login. Is it configured to check after 12 noon or something? Well, you don't say what desktop environment you are using. Usually this checking is done by a utility which is loaded by the desktop environment at login. (usually only for users in the wheel/sys group who would be eligible to run it. I believe in KDE4 this is apper, and it can be loaded at startup. If it dies or you kill it then it doesn't restart itself. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I find that on most of the logins it starts as soon as i log in, but on this one i am using now, it doesn't. Its all configured by its own config (right clock on plasmoid) to run every day but there is no indication when it will start, hence the question. I'm just wondering if i have a config setting somewhere else in the set up thats telling it not to start on login.

Start Gecko Configure Destkop Scroll to bottom and select Apper from the system group of settings Click Installed Software, Click tiny little wrench in the top menu line It has some settings, but not a lot. It might be it is set not to update at all on your problem machine. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
