[opensuse] DMARC bounces
ISTR we've had discussions here about bouncing messages from the list server and got as far as diagnosing that they are caused by the mailing list server forwarding messages from DMARC-protected domains. It seems that the libreoffice list has similar problems and Brian Barker made a useful-looking proposal to fix the problem: "There are solutions to this problem, the simplest of which is for the list processor to append something such as ".INVALID" to the From: address in relevant messages, so that they are no longer recognised as coming from a DMARC-conformant domain. Many mailing list providers do this." I wonder if it would be possible to do this for the opensuse lists? I'd suggest a tag like .notDMARC rather than .INVALID so it's clear why the tag is there. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Technically everything is possible :-) , but it would ruin people's ability to reply-to-all. Which some people consider the appropriate netiquette, usually on busy lists. Also, making the From: address invalid might not be appreciated by spam filters. I don't like the idea of fiddling with a mail - adding information is all I would prefer to do. Just some initial comments, but I also wonder about how easy it is to do "amend From: line if the domain uses DMARC ". -- Per Jessen, Zürich (12.6°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
