3D graphics stopped working after trying to upgrade to newest NVIDIA.....
I tried installing the latest NVIDIA driver.... big mistake. So... I was
able to get back to 1.0-3123, but now when I try to run any 3D stuff, I get
a segfault.

Brad, Have you ran 3Ddiag or glxinfo to see if the 3d module is being loaded for your nvidia? Show us the results. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.9.1i --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

Did you rerun SuSEconfig after you installed the drivers? Seems to make a difference here when 3d starts acting up. You may want to uninstall the driver packages, reinstall them, then run SuSEconfig (in case there is something hosed up after all the segfaults). -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions

I'm a noob, but when this happened to me -- I reinstalled SuSE. :-( But it fixed it. I was running a dual monitor set up with dual video cards; the Diamond Viper V550 PCI and a ATI Radeon 7000 AGP. I wish that SuSE had a better self-correction method for problems like this. -- Sincerely, Neil Blanchard mailto:neil.blanchard@verizon.net

I have since installed the very latest driver in 8.2 and I'll be jiggered... it works. I have been frustratin' with gettin' 3D working again every since I upgraded to 8.2.... FINALLY. Something to do with the driver and Athlon/MSI/VIA kt4Ultra system board that they now have fixed because where the last two driver versions blanked me screen and left me blind, this one works.
