Desktop is XPSP2 notebook is SUSE 10.0. They are both on D-Link Wireless but using wired. When I'm in XP mode on notebook Network, File sharing and printing sharing work fine. I can't get SUSE to see XP and I can't get XP to see SUSE. There are an over whelming amount of Network options in SUSE and I have Googled it and read the man and can't find the answer. Anyone have any Ideas??? -- Poneyboy Gregory D. Watts 931-498-4341\Cell 931-260-0414 http://www.tasana.biz

Have you looked at Samba? Steven
To see XP from SUSE: (SUSE as Client) 1) disable XP firewalls. 2) use "Network Browsing" in SUSE. To see SUSE from XP: (SUSE as Server) SAMBA configuration is required. Easiest way to do this is via KDE Control Center->Network->Samba->Administrator Mode->Security Level->Share. (+ look for options) But unfortunately, configuring SAMBA server still not-as-easy as in Windows 98/XP. Also I recommend you to test "ping" layer 3 connectivity *before* configuring SAMBA.

I was impressed with the packages in SUSE and have no need for anything else. except 2, Shockwave which was download but is in taz so I still have to install it. the other is any legal software, mostly contracts and wills. I am not a lawyer or anything just for personal use and I can't fine anything in SUSE or online -- Poneyboy Gregory D. Watts 931-498-4341\Cell 931-260-0414 http://www.tasana.biz

I hadn't known that Intuit had any Linux Titles. Hopefully this bodes well for their tax software. I got the flyer for the 2005 tax year in the mail last week. "Please order now". If they've got a Linux version then I just might. :)
