[SuSE Linux] Menu wrecked by KDE "unreleased"
I installed the unreleased portion of the KDE tools from my 5.3 cd's. The experimental stuff turns out to be mostly games, anyway, so I used YaST to uninstall it all. My K menu is now jumbled almost beyond recognition. One of the buttons is now blank (choices are still there, just no title to that button), and that same button is duplicated further down the tree. I just want to know if there is any way to copy the menu items from another computer (I have two with identical setups) or can I somehow "fix" the menu short of reinstalling? Lesson: heed the warnings. :) Thanks. -- Steve Mills steve@millsphoto.com <A HREF="http://www.millsphoto.com</A">http://www.millsphoto.com</A> Great wallpapers live here. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Just copy the contents of /opt/kde/share/applnk from the working machine over. If that doesn't fix it there's always kmenuedit ;-) Ciao, Stefan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Ciao, Stefan
KMenuedit...it's not exactly going to solve this problem since it see's what the menu should look like, not what it really looks like. I've tried that already. :) The other advice will do the trick, I think. Thank you.
