How do you do it? I have a HPT370 RAID controller and I can't find any information on how to install the RAID drivers before installing Linux or during the Linux installation. I have SuSe Linux 7.3 and whilst installing it I can't see where I can install the HPT370 drivers. I have the driver downloaded which is 4+MB in size but I don't know how to get it installed since it won't fit on a floppy. I thought maybe Yast Online Update would be the answer but I can't find that either. During the install I get 2 hard drives that are available with the remaining unpartitioned section of the disk available. I have set up Windows 2000 on 70GB of the 2-60GB drives and I want to dual boot both. In the manual partitioning section of the setup it shows the drives but not one drive. I don't know how to get the HPT370 driver installed so the installation will see the 2 drives as one. Thanks for any help in advance! Please respond to robertmp2@attbi.com Robert Pollard
If the HPT370 controller is supported in Linux, it should be detected during installation, then the drives will appear to Linux however you have them configured in the controller. If the driver is not built into the SuSE install, you should be able to load it from floppy. Are you sure you downloaded the right driver? The largest SCSI driver in the 2.4.10 Linux kernel is about 126k. Most of the RAID drivers are less than 100k. 4GB for driver doesn't sound right to me. Hi Go to http://www.highpoint-tech.com, and look after drivers and manual... They support only certain kernel with their binary-only modules.. Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 10 Helmikuu 2002 10:41, Robert Pollard kirjoitti:
