On another drive I have one primary partition with winblows and in the extended two more with the rest dedicated to Suse. Because its updated I dont want to hose it and start over. AFAIK I need to delete the partitions with qtparted and change the /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.1st +------E-----------------------------------------+ | WinC | WinD | WinE | / | /boot | /swap | /home | +------E-----------------------------------------+ Can I leave all the Linux partitions in the extended and just slide over and fix the above files? Are there other files I need to change? CWSIV ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! I don't fully understand what you are intending to change, but, in general, when changing, adding or deleting partitions only fstab is affected, and grub/lilo only when the boot partitions are touched. The rest of the system uses the disks by the directory names, and these do not change. However... make sure you know how to use the rescue CD/DVD (and vi) ;-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
