[opensuse] 11.4 - Rocks - Great Job Devs!
Guys, 2nd day on 11.4. (one day was lost due to a radeonhd bug for RS690M chip set [Radeon X1250 cards]) All I got to say is -- it rocks! Good job devs. Big jump from 11.0 to 11.4, but now I won't spend as much time hunting for rpms just to get things to build again :) Its a "blueslate" theme for kde3 this time: http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/ss/kde/opensuse_114-blueslate.jpg Good looking desktop. -- David C. it doesn't rock here . 1) this bug still exsits(gnome) .(http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/2011-02/msg03139.html) on solution is to excute the su - not the su only , but it still doesn't solve the problem 2) scim cannot used in firefox beta12 . one solution is to change the locale to en_us.utf-8, but my first lanuage is not ENGLISH.!!

ALWAYS # rpm -e $(rpm -qa | grep scim) That damn thing is worse than Beagle.... If you use the command line much is totally screws up bash-completion, drives vi crazy and will just annoy the heck out of you. IIRC, I had a dbus connection error or two on first run, but it has been rock solid ever since on kde3. I have used zypper a lot on 11.4 and I've never seen that error. (I have an x86_64 install). I haven't used 'zypper dup'. I elected a new instal since I was moving from 11.0 -> 11.4. However, zypper ref, up, in, se, ar, and rr have all worked. Good luck with the issue wolf. If I see anything pop up on my box, I'll add it to the bug report. -- David C. maybe I should have a taste of IBUS, but I use scim in my Debian box, I don't want to use two input methods at the same time, it's gonna be weird

as a matter of fact , I didn't use "zypper dup" , I install a fresh openSUSE(11.4) .(the openSUSE 11.3 was formatted one months ago )
Good luck with the issue wolf. If I see anything pop up on my box, I'll add it to the bug report.
thanks a lot! have a nice day with fresh openSUSE !

Why firefox wants to look like Opera is beyond me. The 4.0 firefox installed by default was OK, worked fine, but none of my themes were compatible, so I went back to 3.6.17. Much happier... The 'hide menubar' extension for ff & tbird 3x aleady gives me the added real estate 4.0 offers. -- David C. er, no, it's 4.0.0-2.1, an rc/release candidate (#2 I believe). -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
