Is "ck-list-sessions | grep active" true?
# ck-list-sessions Both command above gives an 'empty line answer', so I guess it is not on/true.
What is ck-list-sessions?
It lists the ConsoleKit sessions. ConsoleKit is a daemon that tracks which users are logged in at the console, and which of those sessions in active at the time. HAL uses information from the ConsoleKit and PolicyKit daemons to give users that are logged in at the console (i.e., not those logged in via ssh from remote) the right to access several devices. PolicyKit is the daemon that decides *which* devices are accessable. When you login via GNOME or KDE, your new session is registered automatically with the ConsoleKit daemon. If you use X with another window or session manager, you have to start your session with "ck-launch-session CMD". If you use tty login, you have to add session optional pam_ck_connector.so to /etc/pam.d/login.
