Re: [SLE] sound on suse 7 revisited again and again and again
No I have not compiled it right into the kernel. I use reiserfs and I know since reiser is not directly in the kernel except for suse stock kernel I don't even want to go thru that trouble.since I use reiser I am waiting for it to make it into 2.4 before I ever attempt a kernel recompile because its just not worth the pain it may cause me.

Have you ever tried to compile the ES1371 support directly in your kernel?

If you choose the experimental option in make menuconfig then ReisferFS will be among the FileSystem options and you can compile it into the kernel in 2.4.0. -- Scientific theories, according to Sir Karl Popper, can be "falsified," or proven wrong, by experiment. Unscientific theories -Marxist dialectical history and Freudian psychology were Popper's favorites- are formed in such a way that they cannot be falsified by data.
