[opensuse] How to Update ClamAV Database
I installed clamav and clamav-db 0.96 on OSE 11.3 but could not find freshclam. I assumed that the ClamAV folks had perhaps repackaged it in some way but now I see errors in the logs indicating the Clam DB is out of date (!). I have checked my SuSE repositories and do not find freshclam although there are man pages for it and its configuration file. A visit to the clamav.net web site was similarly unfruiful. What am I missing here? Thank you, Lucky Leavell -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

So /usr/bin/freshclam does not exist on your system?

No, it is in the clamav package. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (7.8°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Indeed # rpm -q --filesbypkg clamav |grep freshclam clamav /etc/freshclam.conf clamav /etc/init.d/freshclam clamav /usr/bin/freshclam clamav /usr/sbin/rcfreshclam clamav /usr/share/man/man1/freshclam.1.gz clamav /usr/share/man/man5/freshclam.conf.5.gz clamav /var/lib/clamav/freshclam.pid -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Indeed

That was it. It is refreshed and ClamAV is working fine ... Thank you, Lucky Leavell -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
