[opensuse] Bomb- and accellerateicons after installation

Stop logging in as root. Log in as a normal (non-root) user, and do ALL your work in the normal user account. If you are logged into root and doing anything other than administrative work... you're wrong. And normally, once your system is up and running, there is no reason to ever log into root -- you can log in as a normal user, and use the "su" command in an xterm or konsole terminal, and do all of your administrative work from there.
