You don't actually mean hwinfo do you? If you do, the package is called hwinfo. rpm -qf /path/to/hwscan or rpm -qf `which hwscan` will tell you - AFAIK it's not anymore in 11.0, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

After some checking, it was included with SuSE 9.1, strangely enough in the hwinfo package, but wasn't in SuSE 9.3, apparently having been replaced by hwinfo. I can't say if it was present in SuSE 9.2 as I don't have a running 9.2 system available to look at any more, and the installation media is out of the way. yes, hwscan was removed on apr 01 2005 , probably because it was obsolete. -- "A computer is like an Old Testament god, with a lot of rules and no mercy. " Cristian Rodríguez R. Platform/OpenSUSE - Core Services SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development http://www.opensuse.org/
