[opensuse] Join an openSUSE 13.1 PC to a Windows 2008 Domain
Hello All! I am trying to "join" an os 13.1 PC to a Windows Domain. What I want is to use Windows' AD (Windows 2008 R2)as the primary means my users use to log in to the workstation. We already have a very large Windows infrastructure, these are the first steps in testing Linux for acceptance. I used the "Samba server" and "Domain Membership" options in YAST (I'm using KDE4). This way I managed to get the PC "added" to the domain (it appears in Windows "Domain Users and Computers" MMC snapin). I have selected "Use SMB information for linux authentication" in the Domain Membership section of Yast. In the kdm greeter now I see the options to validate against the domain. However, all attempts to log in with valid windows credentials fail, both selecting the authentication realm with the dropdown and using the DOMAIN\User syntax. Any clue is appreciated ;-) -- Pablo M.
