[opensuse] Xerox Phaser 6140N
In Suse 12.1 I'm unable to detect my Xerox Phaser 6140N USB printer. In the add printer box, under add new printer is just says printer not detected. Newbie here. Thanks. Bob -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks. I'll check it out. I already have the driver but this is from a different site. I think the problem is in Suse. Just not detecting a printer at all. Bob -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

In general see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_Report_a_Printing_Issue Perhaps your issue is the same as in http://www.cups.org/newsgroups.php?s1+gcups.bugs+v1+T0+Q%22Xerox+Phaser+6010... http://www.cups.org/newsgroups.php?s1+gcups.bugs+v3+T0+Q%22Xerox+Phaser+6010... FYT, as far as I see in the product specification at Xerox the Xerox Phaser 6140N is a real PostScript printer. In this case use the PPD file from Xerox to set up the printer, see http://en.opensuse.org/Concepts_printing and http://en.opensuse.org/YaST_Printer Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH -- Maxfeldstrasse 5 -- 90409 Nuernberg -- Germany HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendoerffer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
