[SLE] Kde-3.2.1 clock applet bug.
I just downloaded kde-3.2.1 for 9.0 from suse. I'm no longer able to choose the clock applet background color ! Did you meet and solve the problem or is it a bug ? Michel.

Hmm, it seems to be working for me. Which background colour exactly are you trying to change with what type of clock? Regards, Pieter

I use the digital clock, the background for the date changes but not the one for the hour. Michel

Are you sure you're setting the correct background color then? There's two in there. It's set up as: Time: LCD look Foreground color Shadow color Background color (This is the one you'll want to set) Date: Foreground color Background color Regards, Pieter hulshoff

Time: LCD look Foreground color
Works.
Shadow color
Works.
Background color (This is the one you'll want to set)
Yes and it doesn't work
Date: Foreground color Background color
This one works. Thanks. Michel.

Odd. The first background color should set the background color for the time; the second one is for the date. They all work fine for me. I'm running SuSE 8.2, and upgraded from KDE 3.1.4 to 3.2 to 3.2.1. Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

Yes but as I told I'm running SuSE 9.0 with kernel 2.6.4 and Kde upgraded from 3.1.4 to 3.1.5 to 3.2.0 to 3.2.1. Thanks anyway. Michel.

I installed the 3.2.0 clockapplet libraries (clockapplet.la and clockapplet.so) instead of the 3.2.1 ones and it works. So it is really a bug. Michel

It is really a bug : In file kdebase->kicker->applets->clock->clock.cpp replace line 1021 : || paletteBackgroundPixmap()) by : || _clock->widget()->paletteBackgroundPixmap()) compile and install files : clock_panelapplet.la and clock_panel applet.so and it works !! Don't know where to send the patch. Michel.

Go to www.kde.org follow the 'bugs' trail to the interactive bug reporting. Check the database first to see if it hasn't already been reported. It's all pretty easy to do and they are responsive. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
