Re: [opensuse] OT - Firefox 10 relieves add-on updating pain
We are aware of the ESR releases and the lifetime of the FF3.6 and TB3.1 series. What we haven't discussed in detail yet is if we want those and stay on them in the official update channel for openSUSE!
Fine for me as long as there will be a transition from the Soon-to-be-discontinued TB3 to a current version. Preferably in the regular update repository. Look there is absolute no reason to cling to the original release of Thunderbird that came with your distro, and then complain about a transition package. Upgraded packages already appear on the OpenSuse list of Additional package repositries: http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_package_repositories#Mozilla and it includes Thunderbird 10. As always, the only thing changed in these rpms is the packaging, so its no less safe than the original TB3 that came with the distro. Even if you got it directly from Mozilla http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all.html it installs correctly on Opensuse. Why hang back 7 releases waiting for someone to take you by the hand and guide you thru conversion? Add the repro from the first link and upgrade! -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
