[SLE] Newbie (urgent) questions
Hi :) I'm new in this and I've got two questions: 1.- I've got SuSE 6.3 installed since December and everything was fine til a couple of days ago when my network started failing. The message I get is: neighbour table overflow via syslogd. When I type ifconfig I get a hardware/MAC address of : 00:00:00:00:00:00 I try to get it up and running but there's no way to do it. I've tried upgrading to a newer kernel and still get the same errors. How come it's been working for a couple of months and suddenly I get this message? How can I fix this? If you need more information, it's all set up on a P III 550, with VIA Apollo chipset, 10 GB IDE disk, 1 IDE CD-RW, 1 IDE DVD, ATI graphics card, a RealTek network card and 256 MB RAM. 2.- The other problem is related with squid. As far as I know, you've got to get quite a lot of file descriptors, so I have raised the amount to 3072 and recompiled. I've changed squid's script and added the line: ulimit -HSn 3072 Every time I reboot I get the message ulimit: command not found The question is how can I get it to recognize ulimit when it boots? Thank you very much, Andy Obtenga su E-mail GRATUITO en http://cybercursos.zzn.com ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para obtener su propio servicio de correo electrónico basado en la Multimalla, diríjase a http://www.zzn.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
