Just FYI, my copy of Linux Magazine arrived today. It includes the full (not OSS) DVD of SUSE Linux 10.0. Now, if someone would kindly tell me why the Chameleon is named "geeko." -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

Excellent. I'll get mine off the newsagent's shelf in a couple of days. One day I will get round to sorting out a subscription. Trouble is I get a spare bit of cash and I spend it on antique fishing tackle ;-) -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== Take care. I was impressed! I reinstalled SUSE 10 on my laptop from the DVD with no problems at all. It's amazing what you get with a £5.99 magazine. The DVD install found he wireless network withou my having to load any other drivers (as I had had to for the CD install). I don't know if that'sa difference in the content or whether I missed something from the CD install. Altogether it was a very simple process. On 29/11/05, Kai Ponte <kai@perfectreign.com> wrote:

I suppose it is a pun on the name of the gecko which is a Chameleon-like animal found at least in California.

Is it green? ;-)
The origin of geeko I believe comes from Hawaii. It refers to the common lizard there. Generally it is brown. James Knott wrote:

Wrong :) We had a public naming contest four or five years ago and geeko was the name that won. Philipp

Gecko also runs a auto insurance racket in California. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/
