[opensuse] 12.3 GNOME - icons disappear after resume from STR since recent updates
For a couple of days I noticed that after resuming from suspend to RAM most icons in GNOME task bar (is is the right name?) disappear. The only remaining ones are keyboard language indicator, date and weather. But e.g. network icon is missing (I actually forgot what else was there :) ). I tried to reboot with the same effect. Icons are there after login and gone after resume. None of packages/updates installed recently really rings the bell. I did notice the same on oS 12.3 with GNOME-3.6.2. Most probably associated to recent updates. Restart the gnome-shell did not gave me back those icons. Nor known tweaks either. On my side, Upgrading to GNOME 3.8.4 solved the issues. Maybe a little patient and tweaks knowledge will restore yours. They are not really missing icons. If you take the pointer (mouse arrow) to the proper place and give it a right click it will show them. The situation is more like not visible, right? The icons not visible are Network status and User (notifications). Both are on the right on top bar. I noticed on sunday too.

I did not try this because I found it after the upgrade to GS03.8.4 run 'gnome-panel' from terminal (or logoff and log back in in your gnome session). Alt + rightclick (on some pc's Super+Alt+rightclick) on the panel where you want the icons and add the Indicator Applet Complete. That should do it.
