I got your message George, unfortunately, mines a dynamic IP address. So using a static number won't work. I've tried dhclient from 6.2, dhclient from 6.3, dhcp version 3 and dhcpcd and none seem to want to get a lease or any other information. I've tried setting up the eth0 device with starting ficticious IP/Subnet/Gateway as well as with no devices and selecting useing DHCP Client with YaST. I'm at a complete loss here with what I should configure and what I shouldn't. I've also looked up alot of previous message and tried the various things suggested there, but they tended to be for @Home or TelcoDSL. -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - homepage is in the works SuSE Linux v6.2+ - Kernel 2.2.13 If life is a stage, I want some better lighting. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Can you connect under windows? If so how? Best to start with something they supposedly support. I believe you said earlier that you are running a firewall? In that case try without the firewall and see what happens. To get an easy to configure firewall with support for a DHCP client check out Marc Heuse's solution downloadable from http://www.suse.de/~marc BB, Arjen -- Sell what you use, use what you sell. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
