Win95 is already obsolete, and I'm not wasting money on 98. Have you heard about the timing loop problem with win95 and processors faster than 350Mhz? Well, it affects slower ones too, just not as often. I upgraded my motherboard to a 100 Mhz board and and AMD K6-2 MMX 266 processor, and even with the fix, win95 will fail to load about 1 in 10 times, with a message can't load vmm.vxd. So I switched to my old copy of NT4, and at least I boot. Why do I keep windows around? I have about $1000 in windows software, which I'm not tossing out the window. It still beats linux in sound recording, general graphics , and cheap printing. By the way, NT4, run on fat16, really flies, although I'm leary to go online with it. Maybe Corel will keep the process going and port things like the latest Corel Draw, and Lumiere over to Linux. Suse rules!!! Why? It has the right stuff at the right time for me. When I bought an Initio scsi card, Suse had the kernel patch right on it's ftp site. Redhat didn't. When I bought my new motherboard, Suse had the needed AGP video drivers, in nice rpm format on their ftp site. Redhat didn't. You might think that Suse lags behind Redhat because of glibc, but it leads them in other areas. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>

GOOD choice.
Have you heard about the timing loop problem with win95 and processors faster than 350Mhz?
It's a bug that may or may not "hit" any system. I'm not sure what triggers it. There still are memory leaks in '98...also NT 4.0 is VERY bad about that. It also does NOT recover memory as it should...but then, MickySoft has never done a good job in that area.

Fun, eh?

It's NOT stable enough for me!

Not maybe, it's a DONE DEAL, according to the most recent press releases!
