[opensuse] unable to unlock screen after screensaver kicks on under kde4
Hi, Running opensuse 10.3 on IBM T40 laptop with kde4 as my desktop. If the screensaver is running and has locked the screen, I am unable to log in at the 'switch user/unlock' screen and have to log in at a console window and kill krunner_lock to free up the desktop again. I see in /var/log/messages that kcheckpass has returned an authentication failure but if I run kcheckpass manually it works fine. I have attempted a google search and a search of the archives but did not uncover a solution. Does anyone here know a solution? Thank you! I also had password failures until I realized that it was including the spacebar hit to get the screen going in the first place after a screen lock (close of the laptop lid). Silly, but try a back-space before you enter your password.
Sorry, on re-reading your msg, I think you are speaking of the KDE4 screen saver. I was speaking of the recovery when I close the lid on my Thinkpad R40... Tom in NM -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
