[opensuse] Boot message errors Nobody knows ??
Hello SuSE people. On boot up of 11.4 x86 64, I get hundreds of the following error messages, a short example as here. <4>[ 15.061976] Systemtap Error at _stp_do_relocation:24 STP_RELOCATE message size mismatch (136 vs 264) <4>[ 15.140651] Systemtap Error at _stp_do_relocation:24 STP_RELOCATE message size mismatch (136 vs 264) <4>[ 15.221468] Systemtap Error at _stp_do_relocation:24 STP_RELOCATE message size mismatch (136 vs 264) <4>[ 15.303508] Systemtap Error at _stp_do_relocation:24 STP_RELOCATE message size mismatch (136 vs 264) <4>[ 15.386390] Systemtap Error at _stp_do_relocation:24 STP_RELOCATE message size mismatch (136 vs 264) I have no idea what they are. Bob S Hi I don't see those messages here, you have systemtap-runtime (I do but no messages) have a look at the man page for staprun. Maybe tied into smolt perhaps?

Assuming you are using rsyslog, edit its configuration file, /etc/rsyslog.conf, and make sure you have this setting: $RepeatedMsgReduction on Put it just below the include rsyslog.d line.
