kernel configuration file
Hi, just one question: knowing that my machine is a PC, may I consider that the configuration file which maches my default kernel is /usr/src/linux-2.4.4.SuSE/arch/i386/defconfig ? (using SuSE Prof. 7.2) Olivier.

Is this file different to /usr/src/linux-2.4.4.SuSE/.config (which drives the compilation, if you do a "make bzImage") Cheers, -nick

Olivier.
Depends. It appears to be a generic set of answers to the make menuconfig program, but not entirely..mmm.. a diff I just did on it and my current .config seemed to imply that. I would ignore it and generate your own with make menuconfig. -- Regards Cliff
