[opensuse] Network install/upgrades?
Back in the mists of time, I have vague recall of there being a way to do installs and upgrades across the network. Does this still work? Are there any READMEs, howtos web pages you can point me to? I'd really like to be able to do this without booting from a CD if at all possible. I don't mind rebooting after, but... Do you mean a complete upgrade of a running system from one version of the OS to another? That wasn't so far back in the mist of time, just 6 days ago :-) http://en.opensuse.org/Updating_SUSE_Linux but be advised that it's *strongly* not recommended. See also my first post in the thread "Upgrade from one suse to the next" in this list, message date is Nov 23 at 01:35 a.m. CST. -- The best way to accelerate a computer running Windows is at 9.81 m/s² -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Doing things that are recomended against on a production system is a bad thing(tm) I just wonder if in some future time we can find a way to make such things happen correctly. I've already found that yast and "upgrade" an older redhat system into SUSE fairly painlessly. I'm just trying to avoid sending someone with a CD to this machine.
