[opensuse] Open Office speadsheet question
Hi all, I have a speadsheet that is too wide to print. When I print it Oo uses three sheets of paper. Is there a way to turn the speadsheet just for printing? Copy and paste it into a new landscape formatted text document and format it from there. No one I've ever asked can give me a way of doing it. Everyone thinks that they can until you ask them to show you and they loose 20 sheets of paper each time they try! In the view menu there is an option to view what it will be printed. I surrounds the cells to be printed with a blue border, and leaves the outside grayed. When it's going to be printed into several pages, each one is marked with a dashed blue border, and the page number is overlaid in big numbers in the center of each. You can resize or move the print area, and what will each page print (in all sheets), till you have the result you want. For example, you can change the font used for cells to make them smaller and fit the page. No need to waste paper!

X'-) Old dog knows many tricks ;-) One thing you'll notice, if you start adjusting the pages till they fit in one sheet of paper, is that you will need lenses to read the now fine print ;-P - -- Cheers, Carlos E. To print in landscape mode from OpenOffice Calc: 1) Go to the "Format" menu in Calc and select "Page..." 2) In the dialog box that opens, select the "Page" tab. 3) Under "Orientation, select "Landscape." 4) Click the "OK" button. 5) Print HTH -- JAY VOLLMER -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you are not trying to reformat the spreadsheet, pull up Print (ctrl-p). Open up properties to the right of the printer. Under the Paper tab, you will find Orientation. Select either Portrait or Landscape. Barry -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Jim,
Try Format -> Page Choose the "Sheet" tab Select the "Fit print range(s) to fit width/height" option.
Or simply select the correct orientation and have it fit on one sheet. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Jim,
Try Format -> Page Choose the "Sheet" tab Select the "Fit print range(s) to fit width/height" option.
Or simply select the correct orientation and have it fit on one sheet.
Or both the above if it's too wide to fit naturally on landscape ;-) -- Kind Regards, Ritchie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ritchie Fraser Web: http://www.rpfraser.uklinux.net Registered Linux User #255860 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
