[SLE] password checking problem, what's wrong?
Hi, Here are the symptoms: 1. Logins all perform properly. 2. When in X, and I try to set the Xlock, root can successfully get Xlock to decode the password, but after 2 tries. Normal users cannot get Xlock to respond. 3. When setting up .htaccess files for apache, the web browser responds that it can't decode the password entered, even if using plain text passwords in the passwd file. What in the system could be interfering with password checking in all these systems, yet still allow logins properly? Thanks for any clues. zentara -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Problem solved. My .htaccess files needed a different syntax and I had to recompile Xlock from source. Thanks -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
