Hi all,... Sorry if my question have been asked before. How to assign my cradle USB to /dev/pilot ? Is it automatically assigned when i press the hot-sync button and run the approriate program (jpilot / kpilot)? I use kdepim3-kpilot-3.3.0-32 in SuSE 9.2 Thanks, Adinda P __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Download the latest ringtones, games, and more! http://sg.mobile.yahoo.com

On my system (SuSE 9.2, kdepim3-kpilot-3.4.0-17), there is no /dev/pilot and I'm pretty sure SuSE doesn't set one up by default. Most likely your PDA will try to connect to either /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1 when you put it into your cradle and hit the sync button. You can easily tell KPilot to use the correct one (once you figure out which it is). If you really want to use /dev/pilot once you know where SuSE is assigning your PDA; try creating a symlink to it. E.g. ln -s /dev/ttyUSBx /dev/pilot -- Mark McKibben http://coffeebear.net/ "You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus." - Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
