I have just installed SuSE 9.2 Pro. I am unable to change my monitor resolution to greater than 640x480. The monitor is Viewsonic PF790. I've tried a brand new video card: MSI TD128E RX300 TDE128E (ATI Radeon X300 SE Extreme Power) and an old Speedstar 24X (S3 86c325 S3virge). This card/monitor works perfectly on SuSE 8.1 Pro. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Wide Eyes

Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to a console and login as root. Do an "init 3" (without the quotes) to shutdown X. Do "sax2 -l" and see what happens. You should be able to configure your video card, monitor, resolutions, etc. Double check that your monitor is properly recognized. The Viewsonic PF790 is listed in 9.3 Pro (usr/X11R6/lib/sax/api/data/cdb/Monitors) with Hsync=30-97 and Vsunc=50-180. If it isn'tt lised in 9.2's Monitors file then add it in and try sax2 again. IF you get it configured propely in sax2 Test and Save and then do an "init 5" to get X back up and running. Stan
