I have been trying to use the samba authentication through yast, which
seems to work because the users from the domain controller show up in my
user list but when I try to login as one of the users it kicks me back
out saying I don't have privilege to use X or something. Anybody have
this problem? I think I may just have to set a permission somewhere but
I am really not sure.

Anybody have this problem? Have you configured the /etc/pam.d/* and the /etc/nsswitch.conf ?

Yast has a feature to do authentication through NIS, local, and SAMBA. I tried SAMBA. I don't think I need to configure pam.d because the authentication works but the user once authenticated gets denied to use X. Benjamin Arai benjamin@araisoft.com On Mon, 2003-11-17 at 09:09, Dan Am wrote:

Don't you have to be member in group 'video' to use X? /Lars
