[opensuse] package 'search box' behavior
Hi All, I just tried to search for a package at this page: http://software.opensuse.org/121/en The 'helpful' read ahead function will /not/ let you type in a complete search criteria if it happens to contain a hyphen. The instant it 'sees' a hyphen, the search is prematurely initiated and the cursor is returned to the /start/ of the line -- as one is still typing -- to this effect: Typed: package-name Yielded: namepackage- regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi All,
I just tried to search for a package at this page:
http://software.opensuse.org/121/en
The 'helpful' read ahead function will /not/ let you type in a complete search criteria if it happens to contain a hyphen. The instant it 'sees' a hyphen, the search is prematurely initiated and the cursor is returned to the /start/ of the line -- as one is still typing -- to this effect:
Typed:
package-name
Yielded:
namepackage-
regards,
Carl
I've no idea how or why, but I returned to the page just now and tried again. The anomaly I experienced and described, above, did /not/ reoccur. CEH -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

yours observation must be browser, version, keyboard layout, keyboard hardware or corner-case specific...i say because i can not duplicate your symptoms here (openSUSE 11.4, KDE4.6.0, Chrome Unstable 22.0.1221.1-149058, Danish keyboard layout, using and _old_ IBM keyboard through a 6-pin Mini-DIN to USB converter plugged into a Acer Aspire One D255-2Dkk netbook) the page set to 11.4 i just typed in google-breakpad, nothing moved around here as you describe, except to display the results you can see moved into view, as seen here http://paste.opensuse.org/91135203 so, please tell us what you are running, and maybe someone can duplicate/help.. dd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
