This usually makes downloads more reliable, faster, and easier. aria2 (http://aria2.sourceforge.net/) is the command line client. wxDownload Fast (http://dfast.sourceforge.net/) has a GUI. metalink support is also being added to KGet. There are other clients for Windows and Mac. New metalinks are available at http://download.packages.ro/metalink/opensuse/ . Previous metalinks for openSUSE have been quite popular. While this might not be practical right now (it's just as easy pointing to a separate link than using options on the command line), it could still be useful in the future when clients save your settings for OS, language, and location.
