[opensuse] Lost JPEG Preview / KDE Photo editor
I opened Digicam to look at some pics. I went to righ-click and edit using the KDE photo editor. It is not in the context menu. Also, the images for jpegs are now all of a sudden gone from Konqueror. They worked fine on Monday, as far as I know. Ideas? OpenSUSE 10.2, KDE 3.5.5 "release 45.6", Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz, Total memory (RAM): 1.98 GB. TIA. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Open properties on a jpeg file and re-add KDE photo editor to the list.

Have you installed Crossover Office? Maybe it or something else hijacked the extension. Check the KDE control center or install the latest cross over office. It should be fixed by now. - -- All the best, Peter J. Thank you for the suggestions. I have cxoffice installed. However, there's nothing "image related" about it. I only have Visio and Outlook 2000 installed. I did recently try and install MS Golf 3.0 but it didn't work, so I uninstalled it. Oddly enough, showFoto seems to have disappeared from my context menus. I re-added it but still have no preview for .jpg files. (PNG and GIF files preview just fine.) I'll keep looking. I think this happened once before and I don't remember what I did to "solve" it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Found out something interesting. If I right-click and say "open with" on a file, then change the action to open with - say - showFoto or kview, and say "remember association", then the next time I click on said folder I get that applicaiton opening the folder. Very bizarre, IMO. I managed to remove that concept and put Konqueror back in place as the file manager. Still no icons - I set Kview as the default action for all image types in configure desktop, but I get nothing still. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, Patrick. That didn't do it either. Max size is now 6MB. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The kdegraphics3 package has the bits which generate preview images in konqueror (I think). What version of this do you have installed? Maybe verify that rpm? -- Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Okay, that's a good hint. I have kdegraphics3 3.5.5-30 kdegraphics3-extra 3.5.5.-30 kdegraphics3-imaging 3.5.5-30 kdegraphics3-pdf 3.5.5-43.5 kdegraphics3-postscript 3.5.5-30 The only ones I don't have are kdegraphics3-3D and kdegraphics3-fax Does that help?
