The easiest way (and I hope SuSE is listening) is to get the program "wvdial" from <A HREF="http://www.worldvisions.ca</A">http://www.worldvisions.ca</A> and install it following the directions in the README file. It works great from the command line or in an xterm. One of the best in my opinion programs to connect to your ISP with ppp is this program: <A HREF="http://sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk/public/Mirrors/sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/network/serial/ppp/eznet-1.8.1.tar.gz</A">http://sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk/public/Mirrors/sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/network/serial/ppp/eznet-1.8.1.tar.gz</A> It took me less than a minute to connect to my ISP, no X needed, dead easy... I would suggest it to anyone facing problems with ppp... Hello everybody, My SO5 installations looks fine until it requires my "registration key". I thought it was directly usable for 30 days, without being obliged to register. Since I have no Key, I am forced to cancel the installation and my frustration is reaching the red level : ). My question: Did I do something wrong? Is there a file I have not read (dare I say it is impossible?)? Did I not understand something about the registration? Should I register at the StarDivision site to get the key? Is there another procedure to get into before having it properly installed? Well, I hope one of you has an explanation to my little problem. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

When you downloaded the package, didn't you fill out a form that explained it and gave you the key so that you could run it without registration? I know I did. Of course, it only lets one user install it for use, but hey.... -------------------------------------------- Brad Shelton bshelton@ole.net On Line Exchange <A HREF="http://ole.net</A">http://ole.net</A> Detroit News <A HREF="http://detnews.com</A">http://detnews.com</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

[snip] Try visiting <A HREF="http://www.stardivision.com</A">http://www.stardivision.com</A> and go to the "Star office personal edition for Linux " Section. If you go through the procedure there, it gives you a regestration key before you download it (which you wont need to do). If you bought the Personal edition deluxe you can go online from within StarOffice and register your copy. I would imagine that you can do that as well with the downloaded version..
