Thanks for the quick reply. No luck, however. I don't get any "ok" response from the modem, so everything just hangs... Even powering-off
modem to reset it seems to have no effect.
When I went back into windows, I also seemed to have a problem until I reinstalled the modem. I wonder if this is some 'plug and pray'

If you receive this communication in error, please advise us immediately. ===================================================== I've missed the first part of the thread... try echo at'anynumber' >/dev/modem if this fails try the same but change the /dev/... to the com port (i think it's /dev/cuao i can't check at the moment) this should send normal AT commands to the modem ... if this fails your probably using the wrong port i.e. try /dev/cua1 once this is working update the ppp app your using with the valid details ... or use the KPPPD which is a lot easier to setup ... -----Original Message----- From: Rev.
