Connecting to my desktop with my laptop
Now that I've got my wireless router up and running, I'm wondering what you guys think would be the best way for me to be able to connect to my desktop with my laptop. Both are running 9.1. The desktop is plugged into the router via cable and I've got my laptop on wireless card. I would like to be able to synchronize my calendars (I'm using Kontact on both of my machines now) and email, mostly. Any ideas? Thanks Jack

You're combining two unrelated questions. Whether you connect via lan or wireless, shouldn't affect syncing calendars. As for the actual connection, you have a choice of wired, wireless or both. Once set up, it should make little difference how you connect. Have you set up the wireless connection?

You can export your home directory on the desktop, and import it to the laptop, but

Is this capable of getting headlines from websites like cnn.com or any other news site of my choice? How do I configure it to get news off of those sites, if it is possible? thanks Jack
