[S.u.S.E. Linux] Request for digestified messages
Hello all... I have been requesting SuSE folks to have a digestfied list sent out approx. 2/day, similar to the one at RedHat and Caldera. The digestified list could be threaded (subject and time stamp). I prefer digestified list. Looking at the number of messages, I feel the SuSE list has also reached a critical mass. Personally, I find it difficult to keep up with so many individual messages even though I have a filter to sort them into a separate folder (not to mention all the junk mail from bounces). If you are in favor of a digestified list, please send email to the SuSE folks (I am sure they are also reading this) and let them know. Perhaps, they will consider it if there is enough interest. Thanks for your time. Arun Khan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Hi! Trying to kill the keyboard, arunkhan@xnet.com produced: [digestified list]

Hmmm, I sort all the suse-linux-e into a separate folder (procmail) and use a threading mailreader (mutt), which helps a lot. Did you try a threading mailreader? -Wolfgang -- PGP 2 welcome: Mail me, subject "send PGP-key". If you've nothing at all to hide, you must be boring. I guess not. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
I actually prefer things the way they are. I find for me digests are more of a pain in the ass, cause all messages are clumped together, and I like to be able to see the headers. If SuSE was digestified, then I'd still have to sort the stuff, or split it up, as I tend to discard given threads and stuff. For me the single messages are easier to manage and control.( except for the bounces etc.) -M One is most dishonest towards one's God; he is not _permitted_ to sin. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

My sentiments exactly. I don't like digests. -- Bud Rogers <budr@tanet.net> I wore khaki when khaki wasn't cool. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Well the Linux-Announce Digest is quite nice. :) -Dee ---------------------------------- W.D.McKinney (Dee) deem@wdm.com No Claim to Fame, Saved by Grace ---------------------------------- - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Umm, I didn't mean to be so short. Some folks prefer digests, I'm just not one of them. Some mailing lists allow a choice if individual messages or a digest. I suppose that would be the ideal solution.
