If I'm using port 10000, I'm not aware of it. I had webmin installed, but got an error during upgrade, so I removed it. Any thoughts? It installed fine at home.

1) Why don't you install the webmin that comes with 9.0? 2) I think webmin uses port 10000 for its connection port. as in: http://localhost:10000 -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. I installed the webmin that came with 9.0, but it didn't pick up ther perl modules. I installed a new File::Scan module and that's all it would see, the stuff in ther perl directories look fine, including the new one I installed. I then installed 1.121 from the .tar.gz file, but it still only sees the one module. I've just successfully installed the rpm, no difference. Regards Sid. Bruce Marshall wrote:

Original poster here. I just rebooted my system and managed to get webmin installed. I have no idea why I couldn't get past the port 10000 problem, but I managed to get it working now. Tom On Wed, 2003-11-12 at 04:30, Sid Boyce wrote:

SuSE 9.0 already comes with webmin-1.070-169.noarch.rpm. By default webmin uses port 10000. This is probably already installed and is active. It seems that the problem is that webmin needs to not be running for you to upgrade it. Top stop webmin execute the following as root: /etc/init.d/webmin stop I imagine that the installation should go better after this. Good luck. :) -- David Nettles email: tetsuoni3000@yahoo.co.jp web: http://www.miteyo.org
